About Us
The idea behind TigerStripes is to provide somewhere that woman and girls can come for support and understanding. I really hope to change the body image of at least one woman/girl. There is a blog and eventually there will be a forum. I also hope to host regular events TigerStripes GirlsNightOut. These will be events, woman only, where we will be able to get all dressed up and let our hair down without any confidence issues, without any judgement!
I also aim to provide a support network for people with eating disorders, and for mums who have daughters with eating disorders.
Lets change the self image of at least one woman we know! We are all beautiful, inside and out. Compliment Someone Today..dont under estimate the impact a few words cand have!
History of project
Started on 9th July 2012, TigerStripes aims to promote a healthy self image in woman and girls. I am trying to boost the confidence of the female population.
I want every woman out there to be proud of herself and the way she looks, regardless of size or shape! Dont be embarassed to say, OUT LOUD, what you love about yourself!
Please join me in my fight against the monster living inside every magazine page, every advert and...worst of all...inside every woman. The monster that tells us we are not good enough, not tall enough, not skinny enough, that our breasts are pert enough, that we are too pale, too stumpy, too wobbly and that our skin is not smooth enough.
I am 24 years old. I love make up, I dye my hair once a month, I top my fake tan up twice a week, I get my nails done every 2 weeks. I love nice clothing, nice underwear and I LOVE shoes, of which i definately own too many!
I am not campaigning for woman to be cosmetic free and i am definately not suggesting that we aim for a world free of men. I am fighting for a world where every woman can be a real woman. Where a woman can where fake tan, get her hair and nails done and wear make up and a wonderful dress but FOR HERSELF. I love getting all dressed up but i do it for myself. I know that my partner thinks im beautiful even when i wake up in the middle of the night, with my hair everywhere half asleep big pants and sheep slippers.
We should embrace what we have and show it off, embrace our curves, our lumps and our bumps...where ever they are, they are always in the right place!!
